The principle functionality of IR Force 500 is based on the specific absorption of infrared light corresponding to the centre of the infrared spectrum, between 2 and 8 micrometres in wavelength (NDIR = Non Dispersive Infrared Spectroscopy).
The high selectivity of the infrated sensors is obtained through the saturation of the components 13CO2 and 12C02. The sensibility between 13C and the other concentration of 12C is reached thanks to a gas filter for the 12C02 in the channel of the 13C02 and a mathematical algorithm. In order to reach a high level of accuracy, the temperature is stablished by a thermostat in such a way as to render the system thermally isolated.
The unit is made up of a comprehensive control panel, optical route and air channel, with an integrated LCD touch screen monitor, PC and micro-printer (with the possibility of connection with an external printer).
The four entry points for the bags of gas samples are connected directly to the apparatus by means of inlets situated on the mini front panel.
